Designing an environmental system for a multi-floor headquarters means every decision has to work twice: as an individual space and as part of a larger whole. For Adidas Tokyo, the challenge was building a system flexible enough to carry distinct narratives across floors, room types, and architectural conditions while remaining legible as one connected experience.
Each floor was anchored by a distinct narrative: the athlete, the team, the sport. This allowed the environment to shift in meaning while remaining part of a cohesive whole.
Hierarchy, placement, and space type behavior were defined system-wide. Typography, imagery, and tone shifted by floor to reflect each narrative while shared principles kept everything connected.
